Jonathan is a third-year Bachelor of Science student majoring in Mathematics and Statistics at La Trobe University. He intends to commence honours in mathematics in mid-year 2017. He is interested in a number of different areas, ranging from Group Theory and Geometry to Time-Series Analysis.
He originally wished to pursue studies in Japanese, however found that the logic and rigor of mathematics provided the most enjoyment. In his spare time Jonathan enjoys animation and video games.
The Hopf Fibration is an amazing geometric map from the 3-Sphere to the 2-Sphere. There is quite extensive literature on the Hopf Fibration and it’s applications in both mathematics and physics. The aim of this project is survey and study this literature.
