Biography
Chloe Wilkins is a second-year Mathematics and Physical Sciences student. Her research interest is differential equations and their application. She is an enthusiastic researcher who is eager to increase her knowledge in all aspects of mathematical modelling.
Modelling with Differential Equations
The project will involve researching the mathematics behind the effect of earthquakes on multi-storey buildings. Using simulations, the motion of building levels during an earthquake disturbance will be observed and modelled. By introducing more parameters into the simulations, existing models for multi-story displacement will be improved.
