I will study maximal principal estimates, monotonicity formulas, Harnack inequalities, and blowup analysis in the context of the curve shortening flow. This will lead to an understanding of Grayson’s theorem.

Nicholas Garrett is a third-year Bachelor of Science student at UNE. He majors in Mathematics and Computer Science, with a passion for his studies in Maths. He is interested in researching partial differential equations in the future, with the curve shortening flow being the focus of his AMSI VRS project.
