This project aims to be a significant literature review of recent work that has been done to understand entangled structures relevant to areas of physics, chemistry and biology and their inherent symmetry. This project will then summarise these findings for a mathematical audience and critically evaluate the approaches used to understand these structures with a specific focus on their applicability and usefulness in understanding the many properties of this broad class of structures.
